I was known as Alice Lopez all through my school years but Alice was actually a nickname bestowed on me by a first-grade teacher who thought Elouisa should be shortened to Elisa and then simplified to Alice. No objection on my part until later in life when I divorced my husband of 25 years and sought to "find my real self". Annie, my new legal name, is a derivitive of my middle name and it suits me just fine, thank you very much.
In 2003, I remarried and became Mrs. Annie Berry (Jimmie). My husband and I live in Manor, Texas along with Gracie, our miniature pomeranian. We recently added a toy poodle, Chloe, but are allowing her to stay at my daughter's home in Austin until she gets potty-trained. My daughter, Amanda, is 28 years old and works as a call center supervisor for TXTAG. Her brother, Joey and wife, Brenda, also live in Austin. I help my husband with his insurance business at home where we also sell health products for a company he helped to start 10 years ago called Vision for Life Intl. These products have literally changed my life for the better and I am so excited to be a life and health coach delivering good news to everyone I know. When I met Jimmie, I was recovering from breast cancer and on medication for the rest of my life. I now use one of V4L's products that kills cancer cells and have been cancer free for 7 years. I have more energy and mental focus and enjoy great health. I attend church regularly, enjoy shopping at trift stores with Jim; play cards with my hubby most every night; love to read novels, mysteries, and some romance. I enjoy walking around my quiet neighborhood and visiting with my neighbors and friends I have made during the last 15 years in Austin. I spent most of my adult life working for the Texas Department of Human Services as an eligibility specialist for food stamps, medicaid, TANF, and towards the end of my tenure I enjoyed my job as a CBA specialist working towards obtaining help for elderly and disabled people in my community. I did move around a little bit prior to this and have worked as a deputy county treasurer in Madisonville, a bank teller on South Padre Island and Port Isabel, processed payroll and paid bills for a nursing home in Seguin, and did a small stint with Social Security and at Ft. Hood, not to mention being a telephone operator in Killeen when I first graduated from high school. I was glad to hear my husband say, you've done enough, its time to stay home and enjoy taking care of yourself and me for a while. Even so, I am just now looking forward to going back to part-time work to keep myself active and productive. Thats me, thats my life, and I love it.
